Niamh Burns

Niamh Burns (she/they) is a Northern Irish artist, sea witch and poet person whose work is informed by folklore, the occult, feminism and the natural world. Niamh’s work has been published in antilang, Stone of Madness Press, Contemporary Verse 2, Lida Literary Magazine and elsewhere. Niamh is the author of ‘Frances’, ‘In Back of Heaven’, and ‘Dropping Out’. Currently, Niamh is working on a short conservation film, a poetry collection and a novel about Celtic folklore, witchcraft, and medieval Irish medicine. When not working, Niamh can be found studying marine science & art history, practicing fiddle, mucking around in the ocean, taking photos, playing music and crying about sharks. Her primary research interests are Celtic histories, kelp forest restoration, shark biology, conservation and the social behaviours of sharks.
